The Evanston Police Department is participating in the TEXT-A-TIP program to allow residents to submit crime tips anonymously. To report a tip via text message from your mobile phone, do the following:
- Text to "274637" (which spells CRIMES)
- You must start your message with EPDTIP so that it is routed to the Evanston Police Department
- You will receive a response with your "alias" and may also receive a text message if more information is needed
